CHARACTERISTIC OF FRICTION STIR WELDING WELD JOINT OF AA 6061 ON INITIAL TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE

چکیده
Friction stir welding (FSW) is a solution to overcome the problems of AA 6061 welding. When initial temperature T0 material increased during FSW process while parameters are kept constant then parameter value can be lowered. was varied by Troom temperature, 50 0C, 75 100 0C and 125 0C. The weld joint design form square butt joint. By using this approach higher T0, with being constant, produce peak cooling rate, smaller smoother metal grain structure in nugget, TMAZ HAZ, hardness nugget tensile strength eventough defects tunneling, kiss bond, void still observed.

Trace generation of friction stir welding robot for space weld joint on large thin-walled parts
Purpose – The weld joint of large thin-wall metal parts which deforms in manufacturing and clamping processes is very difficult to manufacture for its shape is different from the initial model; thus, the space normals of the part surface are uncertain. Design/methodology/approach – In this paper, an effective method is presented to calculate cutter location points and to estimate the space norm...
متن کاملTorque based weld power model for friction stir welding
For decades, models have been developed for predicting the size of the weld nugget and heat affected zones in fusion welded structures. The basis for these models is the welding heat input, which is fairly well understood for most arc welding processes. However, this traditional approach is not as straightforward for friction stir welding (FSW). To date, no definitive relationship exists to qua...

متن کاملFeasibility study of friction stir welding of 6061-T6 aluminium alloy with AISI 1018 steel
The present work demonstrates that friction stir welding (FSW) is a feasible route for joining 6061 aluminium (Al) alloy to AISI 1018 steel. The weld has a good weld quality and is free of cracks and porosity. The tensile failure happened at the boundary between the nugget and thermomechanically affected zone of the base Al alloy, indicating that the weld has a higher joining strength. Despite ...
متن کاملAnalysis and Comparison of Friction Stir Welding and Laser Assisted Friction Stir Welding of Aluminum Alloy
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid-state joining process; i.e., no melting occurs. The welding process is promoted by the rotation and translation of an axis-symmetric non-consumable tool along the weld centerline. Thus, the FSW process is performed at much lower temperatures than conventional fusion welding, nevertheless it has some disadvantages. Laser Assisted Friction Stir Welding (LAFS...
